We recently conducted a Fearless Presentations ® public speaking course in Miami, Florida that had a diverse group of participants.
In the days leading up to the U.S. Presidential Election, Michelle Obama was not the only person to visit Miami in early November. While Mrs. Obama was out campaigning for her husband, a mile down the road, a few folks decided to work on their communication and presentation skills. Amongst the group, we had a Horse Veterinarian, a member from the US Coast Guard, a regional manager for Domino’s Pizza, an entrepreneurial mom of 5 kids as well as individuals from the automobile and airline industries. All of them broke through their own anxieties and challenged themselves to bring the best version of themselves in their presentations. Many times it’s our own thought processes and self-created barriers that hold us back from being great on the stage. The participants in the class realized this and sought out to break those barriers by pushing their comfort zones in the confines of a supportive classroom environment. Once those hurdles are overcome, taking those skills back to the professional environment is a relatively easy switch.
The Miami participants campaigned for the own success and did remarkably well. The Leaders Institute ® seeks to bring about that same success within all their classes throughout the U.S. and Canada.
